Reynolds Design and Morrelli & Melvin Design
Randy Reynolds of Reynolds Design has been designing sails and sailboats since 1974. Randy has designed rigs and sails for performance dinghies, mono and multi-hulls, windsurfers and even hydro-foil sailboats such as the Hobie Tri-foiler. His boat design credits include performance sailboards, sailboats and multihulls ranging from eight to forty five feet including the Reynolds33 catamaran. Reynolds and his R33 won the N2E race in 2005 and was Sailing World’s ‘Boat of the Year’ in 2006. In 2008 Reynolds co-founded XSsailing.com and in 2009 co-founded The Border Run, the largest point to point ocean race in Southern California.
Morrelli & Melvin Design and Engineering Inc. have come onboard as co-designers, engineers and/or consultants for the R33, XS 35 and XS 45 catamarans. Morrelli & Melvin are known for their award winning designs including their extensive involvement in the ‘new’ America’s Cup. They have a fantastic track record of designing creative, sound, safe, energy efficient, fun and fast multihulls.
For 2013 XS Cats has created two new designs. The XS-35, an evolution of the R33 catamaran (pictured below) and the all new XS-45. We invite you to closely examine both new designs and feel confident that they will excite and inspire even the most discriminating sailor.
